MON, DEC 4 - VIENNA (Welcome Dinner)
Arrive Vienna and transfer to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time you have a chance to relax or take a stroll before meeting with the group for our welcome dinner this evening.
TUE, DEC 5 - VIENNA (Breakfast, Lunch)
On our panoramic tour of Vienna we drive along the Ringstrasse to see the most important historical sights, including the State Opera House, the National Museum, the Hofburg Palace, the Parliament, and the City Hall. A short walk along the Kartner Strasse takes us to St Stephen’s Cathedral. Later in the afternoon enjoy the sights, sounds and magnificent smells of a Viennese “Christkindlmarkt”.
WED, DEC 6 - VIENNA – SALZBURG (Breakfast, Lunch)
Today we are on our way to Salzburg, the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This charming city was also home to the Trapp family for many years and where many of the scenes were filmed for the original “Sound of Music”. Walking tour of the baroque Old Town and then explore the stalls of the Salzburg Christmas Market overflowing with hot roasted chestnuts, gingerbread hearts, and ornate Christmas ornaments. Lunch today will be at the historic St. Peter Stiftskeller Restaurant. Located in a Salzburg monastery, it is one of the world's oldest restaurants, having served food as an inn since 803! The rest of the day is at your leisure.
THU, DEC 7 - SALZBURG – CESKY KRUMLOV – PRAGUE (Breakfast, Lunch)
From Salzburg we drive to Cesky Krumlov in South Bohemia. Cesky Krumlov is one of the most wonderful medieval cities in Central Europe. This UNESCO heritage site on the Vltava river is perfect for strolling through the maze of cobble-stone streets. We will have a brief walking tour of Cesky Krumlov followed by lunch and some free time before we continue to Prague. Arrive Prague in the early evening and join us for a stroll to the Christmas Market.
FRI, DEC 8 - PRAGUE (Breakfast, Dinner with Folklore Show)
Today we start with a ride on a vintage Prague street car for a special tour that will take us past Republic Square (Namesti Republiky), Wenceslas Square ( Vaclavske Namesti ), National Theatre, and the Prague Castle (UNESCO site). According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the Prague Castle is the largest castle complex in the world. Later continue by foot to the Charles Bridge and across to the Old Town Square with its famous landmarks such as the Church of Our Lady before Tyn, and the unique Astronomical Clock from the year 1410. We will end our tour at the old town so that you can enjoy the rest of the afternoon enjoying the Christmas Market. In the evening we enjoy dinner with a lively folklore show.
SAT, DEC 9 - PRAGUE – DRESDEN – WROCLAW ( Breakfast )
After breakfast we depart Prague and drive north to Dresden. Dresden has the largest number of Christmas markets in the eastern part of Germany and the Striezelmarkt in the centre of Dresden is one of Germany’s oldest Christmas Markets originally started back in the 15th century. Upon arrival in Dresden we will have a short orientation tour on foot and then you will have the afternoon free to explore and enjoy the market at your leisure. We will meet in the late afternoon to continue our journey to Wroclaw. Once in Wroclaw, please join us for a stroll to the market square to savour the magical sights and sounds of Poland's largest Christmas market.
SUN, DEC 10 - WROCLAW ( Breakfast, Dinner )
Morning sightseeing will include Ostrow Tumski, one of the most beautiful and perfectly preserved sacral architecture complexes in Europe. This is where the city was originally settled in the 9th century by a Slavic tribe. From here we will walk to the Old Town passing by the University buildings and then continuing to the Market Square with its Gothic Old Town Hall. Here we will end our tour so that you may enjoy the Christmas Market. Rest of the afternoon at leisure. In the evening join us for dinner at a local restaurant featuring local delicacies.
MON, DEC 11 - WROCLAW – KRAKOW (Breakfast, Dinner)
After breakfast we depart Wroclaw and we will arrive Krakow in the early afternoon. Free time to explore the Christmas Market at the town square. In the middle of the square is the medivel Cloth Hall where there are many stalls filled with gifts and souvenirs. There is also a very interesting underground Museum below the entire market square that is worth a visit. In the evening we will meet for dinner at a local restaurant.
TUE, DEC 12 - KRAKOW (Breakfast)
Highlights of our morning walking tour include: Florian’s Gate, the Barbican, Royal Wawel Hill, and the Old Town area with its Market Square, the Cloth Hall, and St. Mary's Church. Our final stop will be the Krakow Historical Museum to view the stunning exhibit of Krakow’s Traditional Christmas Creches, or “Szopki”, one of Europe's most unique Christmas traditions. WED, DEC 13 - KRAKOW ( B, Farewell Dinner )
Enjoy the last day in Krakow at your own pace. Visit one of Krakow’s interesting museums or just enjoy the festive ambience at the market and make those last minute gift purchases. In the evening we invite you to our farewell dinner at one of Krakow’s finest restaurants.
